Goals
- Establish a leading centre for the identification and validation of biomarkers. Develop novel therapeutic approaches for national trial assessment.
- The centre will undertake 8 phase 1/2 trials in the next 5 years
- At least 5 innovative treatments developed in the Centre will be incorporated into National Clinical Trials
- There will be clear evidence of biomarker analysis being done in Cardiff to support NCRI trials
- There will be published evidence of pre-clinical assessment of at least 10 novel agents in the next 5 years
- The centre will lead novel agent development in AML with a view to incorporation into the NCRI portfolio
- The centre will develop as the major resource for correlative studies in AML and Colorectal cancer trials
- The centre will become a leading centre for the methodology and storage of cancer tissue, beyond what is collected in clinical trials. This will be available to investigators beyond Wales.
- The centre will lead the first micro-array analysis in a prospective trial in AML
