Early Phase and Translational Research Nurse Group : Groups : Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) Network

Early Phase and Translational Research Nurse Group

The group was originally set up by nurses in 2004 with the aim of focusing on the challenges and obstacles faced in translational and early phase research. It was adopted under the umbrella of the ECMC Initiative in 2007 and has now expanded to over 150 members. The group is led by a steering committee and has endorsed terms of reference.

The nurses use the group to share best practice, develop training ideas and as a forum to discuss the daily challenges and obstacles they face in their roles as early phase or translational research nurses. The group meets for training and study days hosted by the ECMCs up to four times a year - the ideas for these training days are generated by the group. The nurses in the group also communicate across the Network via email and through the Research Nurse section of the ECMC website.
