New ECMC Haematology Network Group Launched

12 Dec 2017

Following interest expressed by centres across the ECMC network, a newly established ECMC Haematology Network Group, led by Cardiff ECMC, met for the first time on the 25th October in the Hammersmith Hospital, with seven centres represented.

A key objective of the group is to strengthen the representation of Haematology within the ECMC Network, with the goal of enhancing the clinical and scientific contributions by this discipline.

Actions from the meeting include the establishment of a haematology contact list, developing links between centres and industrial partners, including strengthening the opportunities provided by the Combinations Alliance.

The Haematology Group will work closely with the ECMC programme office, and will also reach out to other groups and networks both within and outside of the ECMC network, to strengthen and develop shared opportunities. The Haematology Group will meet three times a year, with the location rotating among group members. The next meeting will occur before Easter 2018. The group remains open to all working in haematology, including all research staff, and will actively seek public and patient involvement.

We would welcome any new members who are interested in participating in the group and contributing to it moving forward. Please contact Prof Oliver Ottmann (OttmannO@cardiff.ac.uk) from Cardiff ECMC for further information.
