14 Aug 2017

Pre-announcement: Newcastle University is seeking to recruit a new Clinical Chair in Molecular Pathology. This exciting opportunity will be advertised in September 2017. We will be looking for a talented and highly motivated individual to spearhead our programme in Molecular Pathology, working closely with the Newcastle EPSRC/MRC Molecular Pathology Node (www.newcastlepathnode.org.uk) one of six awarded across the UK.

The successful applicant will join the internationally renowned Pathology Department in Newcastle. He/she could be a specialist pathologist aiming to deliver a focused clinical service in the NHS department as an honorary consultant (www.newcastlelaboratories.com) or could be a pure molecular pathologist with more general clinical interests. It is anticipated that the post holder will join the Institute of Cellular Medicine within the Faculty of Medical Sciences where there are significant strengths in stratified medicine and inflammatory/immune-mediated disorders. However, for a suitable applicant with a background in molecular pathology of cancer, the post could be held within the Northern Institute of Cancer Research (NICR).

Please contact either Professor Nick Reynolds Node director (t: +44 (0) 191 208 5840, e: nick.reynolds@newcastle.ac.uk) or Professor Philip Sloan MRC Node deputy director (t: +44 191 2821517, e: philip.sloan@newcastle.ac.uk) if you would like to discuss this opportunity or arrange a visit to Newcastle.
