What is EC Trial Finder and how will it benefit me?

  • EC Trial Finder allows you to quickly and easily search for early-phase oncology trials within the ECMC network for your patients using customised criteria, including age, location and molecular stratification
  • Kept up-to-date and accurate with monthly updates
  • Includes contact details of recruiting sites, enabling you to discuss whether your patient may be eligible for the trial and determine slot availability
There are no technical requirements as this is web-based tool that you access via a web link. No installation is needed and it does not require any patient information.

 

How is EC Trial Finder different from other tools?
  • Accurate and up to date: monthly trial information updates are submitted directly by the EC Trial Finder coordinator at each NHS site, assuring that the database stays accurate and up to date
  • Search and filtering functionality: custom designed allowing medical staff to quickly identify suitable trials (i.e. location, age, markers, treatment type) without searching through hundreds of options
  • Contact details: the tool includes the contact details of the recruiting site, enabling users to quickly gather further information, determine whether patient may be eligible and find out slot availability

 

Who can access EC Trial Finder?

Access to EC Trial Finder is restricted to NHS clinicians and other NHS staff members responsible for identifying trials for patients.

How to join 

If you’re an NHS staff member responsible for identifying trials for patients please create an account here. After that, you can start exploring EC Trial Finder and use it to search for trials for your patients. 

 

How to use the tool
  • Log in and perform a search either with cancer type or molecular maker
  • Use smart filters on the left-hand side of the page to refine your search
  • Access a link to external records for additional eligibility information
  • Use contact details to get in touch with the site

 

Important to know
 

Please feel free to use EC Trial Finder when you need to – such as in your clinic, patient review meetings and MDT meetings. We’d also recommend that you contact the recruiting site first before discussing any potential trials with your patients.
 

The tool includes early-phase oncology treatment trials in the ECMC network which are in set-up or open for recruitment. It includes trials for all cancer types and both paediatric and adult trials.
