Bristol paediatric centre

This centre is based at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and delivers early-phase cancer trials for children and young people aged 0–25.

Centre overview

Our Bristol paediatric experimental cancer medicine centre (ECMC) works in partnership with the Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) Unit at the Bristol Oncology and Haematology Centre. It’s an accredited Innovative Therapies for Children with Cancer European Consortium (ITCC) centre, a Principal Treatment Centre for South West England and works closely with the South West Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Network.

The centre has dedicated clinical research teams, inpatient/outpatient facilities, laboratories and subspecialities to support delivery of early-phase treatment. It is part of the paediatric ECMC network and has strong collaboration with academic and commercial partners, including the Cancer Research UK clinical trials unit in the University of Birmingham.

Antony Ng - Centre co-lead

Antony Ng is a consultant Paediatric Oncologist at Bristol Children’s Hospital. He is responsible for delivering early-and late-phase clinical trials for children and TYA patients with solid and central nervous system tumours, including those with cancers refractory to treatment and recurrent disease.

Olivia Gordon - Senior Clinical Trial Coordinator / Centre business lead

​​Olivia Gordon is the Senior Trial Coordinator for Paediatric Oncology, Haematology and BMT at Bristol Royal Hospital For Children. She brings experience from adult, TYA and paediatric environments; with expertise in data management, trial set-up and trial delivery across phases 1-3.

Victoria Payne - Paediatric research sister / Centre business lead

​​Victoria is one of the Paediatric Research Sister's for the Women's and Children's Research Unit within the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. She's an experienced paediatric nurse with a background in general paediatrics and oncology. She works alongside the senior leadership team, providing professional, research and clinical management and leadership in clinical trial set-up and delivery.
