Cambridge paediatric centre

This centre is based at Cambridge University Hospitals on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and delivers specialist care for children and young people aged 0–24.

Centre overview

Our Cambridge paediatric experimental cancer medicine centre (ECMC) is accredited by the Innovative Therapies for Children with Cancer European Consortium (ITCC). It's also the Principal Treatment Centre for paediatric oncology and haematology in the East of England. The centre benefits from strong academic and industry partnerships and leads pioneering early phase studies and national genomics driven and translational research.

The Cambridge paediatric ECMC is dedicated to advancing treatment options, improving survival rates and transforming paediatric cancer care with a strong emphasis on biobanking and patient and family engagement. It also accepts national referrals to ensure equitable access.

There is also an adult centre in Cambridge.

Aditi Vedi - Centre lead

Aditi Vedi is a consultant paediatric oncologist and clinical trialist at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS trust, with an interest in leukaemia and neuroblastoma. She is the Research Delivery Network’s East of England children regional specialty lead and Cambridge ITCC lead. Aditi is also involved in translation research and sits on the national VIVO Biobank Sample and Data Access committee.
