Liverpool paediatric centre

This centre supports studies distributed across the North of England, Wales and Ireland, with a research focus on neuroblastoma and medulloblastoma.

Centre overview

Our Liverpool paediatric experimental cancer medicine centre (ECMC) is an Innovative Therapies for Children with Cancer European Consortium (ITCC) accredited centre with strong links to other UK ITCC centres, particularly Leeds and Manchester.

It works closely with the University of Liverpool Paediatric Cancer Biology Group and the Liverpool Clinical Trials Unit as well as strong ties to our adult ECMC in Liverpool.

The centre also offers advanced functional imaging, including intraoperative 3T MRI and on-site family accommodation, through the Ronald McDonald 'home away from home' provision, to enhance trial accessibility.

There is also an adult centre in Liverpool.
