Southampton paediatric centre

This centre is based at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS NHS) and delivers pre-clinical, clinical and translational programmes.

Centre overview

Our Southampton paediatric experimental cancer medicine centre (ECMC) leads leads a number of early phase neuroblastoma trials.

The UHS NHS works in partnership with the University of Southampton and as the regional paediatric oncology Principal Treatment Centre for the Wessex region, delivers shared care with 12 hospitals across Dorset, Hampshire, Surrey and the Channel Islands.

With excellent transport links, the centre recruits children from across the UK and works closely with its teenage and young adult oncology unit to include appropriate patients in immunotherapy studies.

There is also an adult centre in Southampton.

Juliet Gray - Centre lead

Juliet is Professor of Paediatric Oncology at Southampton Children's Hospital and the Centre for Cancer Immunology at the University of Southampton.

Her interests are in neuroblastoma and immunotherapy, leading a research group focused on developing novel antibody therapies and several international paediatric clinical trials.
